Basketball Recap: McLane Takes a Loss

McLane was the 49-35 winner over Firebaugh when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The McLane Highlanders were dealt a 53-13 loss at the hands of the Firebaugh Eagles on Saturday. The contest marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Jada Barber and Saraya Beltran certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Barber posted five points, while Beltran put up five points.

McLane is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7. As for Firebaugh, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

McLane didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 36-22 victory against Riverdale on the 3rd. As for Firebaugh, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 34-24 defeat against Madera South on the 3rd.
