After a string of six wins, Ceres's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the Pacheco Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-50 back in January.

Despite the loss, Ceres still got an impressive performance from Lilly Staggs, who posted 21 points and four steals. Arrayah Stallworth was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

Pacheco got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sasha Siemiller out in front who had 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Siemiller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeanette Ortiz, who scored 15 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks.

Ceres' defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Pacheco, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Ceres will venture away from home to challenge Grace Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Grace Davis is on a 11-game streak of home wins, Ceres a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Pacheco, they will welcome Beyer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.
