Soccer Recap: Ironton Comes Up Short

Ironton and Gallia Academy pushed the score to 10-0 the last time they played Gallia Academy, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Fighting Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, Ironton's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ironton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for Gallia Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Ironton will take on rival Portsmouth at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gallia Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Fairland at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
