Soccer Game Preview: Chavez vs. Tokay

The Chavez Titans will take on the Tokay Tigers in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chavez's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Chavez fell victim to Bear Creek and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bruins, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Tokay kept a clean sheet against Edison on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 2-0. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Vikings are ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tokay now has a winning record of 2-1-4. As for Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2-1.

Chavez suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Tokay when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Chavez avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
