Preview: Creighton Bulldogs vs. Bloomfield Bees
The Creighton Bulldogs will square off against the Bloomfield Bees at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Creighton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Creighton was the victim of a tough 60-37 loss at the hands of Plainview. While losing is never fun, Creighton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Plainview is ranked 103rd).
Meanwhile, Bloomfield had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 50-39 win over Creighton on Thursday.
It was another big night for Madison Abbenhaus, who scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Bloomfield's points. Kora Poppe was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Creighton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Bloomfield, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
Creighton came up short against Bloomfield in their previous meeting on Thursday, falling 50-39. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Abbenhaus, who scored 25 points.
