Softball Recap: Blue River Triumphs

Blue River lost to Guardian Angels Central Catholic back in August of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. Blue River walked away with an 8-4 win over Guardian Angels Central Catholic.

Blue River let Danica Watts and Ashlyn Long run wild. Watts got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Long went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those three runs gave Watts a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tayja Slonecker, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Blue River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Guardian Angels Central Catholic only posted an OBP of .250.

Blue River's record is now 2-0. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Blue River will take on North Bend Central in a tournament on Saturday. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, they will take on Bayard at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
