Basketball Recap: Bishop O'dowd Takes Down California in a Playoff Battle

Bishop O'Dowd extended their postseason success on Saturday against California. They came out on top against the California Grizzlies by a score of 45-34. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 50-43 back in January.

California lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Rachael Osicka, who posted ten points and three blocks. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Taylor Lim, who put up nine points and eight rebounds.

Bishop O'Dowd has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points over those games. The loss snapped California's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 21-11 record.

Bishop O'Dowd and California are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Bishop O'Dowd will head out to square off against Archbishop Riordan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Archbishop Riordan has won five straight at home, while Bishop O'Dowd won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for California, they will host Los Gatos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. California is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
