Soccer Game Preview: Walkertown vs. Morehead

The Walkertown Wolfpack will venture away from home to square off against the Morehead Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Walkertown and eight for Morehead.

On Monday, Walkertown didn't have quite enough to beat McMichael and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Morehead's offense. They came up short against Carver on Monday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Morehead can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 566th, while Carver are ranked 242nd).

Walkertown suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 1-5-1. As for Morehead, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Walkertown beat Morehead by a goal when the teams last played back in September, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
