Recap: Hesperia Scorpions vs. Sultana Sultans
The Hesperia Scorpions won the last time they faced the Sultana Sultans, and things went their way on Friday too. Hesperia enjoyed a cozy 57-41 victory over Sultana. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hesperia.
It was another big night for Berlynn Miramontes, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hesperia's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabel Sanchez, who scored four points along with 16 rebounds and six steals.
Despite the loss, Sultana still got an impressive performance from Katelyn Parrish, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amia Waller, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Hesperia has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-12 record this season. As for Sultana, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-15.
Hesperia will head out on the road to square off against Oak Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sultana, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Apple Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
