Football Game Preview: Sinton Pirates vs. Robstown Cottonpickers + How To Watch

Sinton is a perfect 9-0 against Robstown since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Cottonpickers at 7:00 p.m. Sinton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Robstown likes a good challenge.

Sinton took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They breezed past Ingleside to the tune of 63-7. With the Pirates ahead 56-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Mykha Green continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 249 yards and five scores on only 11 carries. Green is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 215 every time he's taken the field this season. Quincy Bess was another key player, throwing for 196 yards and four TDs on only 17 passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sinton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 271 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 33 points the game before, Robstown was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against Rockport-Fulton, falling 33-12. The Cottonpickers have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Robstown's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Sinton, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Everything came up roses for Sinton against Robstown in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 63-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
