Softball Recap: John Milledge Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against First Presbyterian Day, John Milledge Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Windsor Academy Knights a 4-0 shutout. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Addie Latimer made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Latimer wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kinley McLemore, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

John Milledge Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Coming up, John Milledge Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Bethlehem Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Windsor Academy, they will square off against Stratford Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
