Softball Recap: Bear Creek Bears vs. D'Evelyn Jaguars
Bear Creek extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 17-6 to the D'Evelyn Jaguars. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.
Bear Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Orozco, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
As for D'Evelyn, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 17.5 runs this season.
On D'Evelyn's side, Macie Allen was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Allen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Calista Hinestroza, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bear Creek will head out to take on Highlands Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for D'Evelyn, they will face off against Ralston Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
