After flying high against Mifflin on Thursday, Northland came back down to earth. The Vikings fell just short of the Franklin Heights Falcons by a score of 8-6 on Tuesday. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Dana Byrd was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Northland's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Franklin Heights, they moved to 6-17 with that victory, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Northland will square off against Canal Winchester at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Franklin Heights, they will face off against Central Crossing at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
