Palisades is 0-3 against Ardrey Kell since September of 2022 but things could change on October 3. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Palisades' defense has only allowed 11.4 points per game this season, so Ardrey Kell's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Last Friday, Palisades came up short against Independence and fell 27-20. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Patriots are ranked tenth).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jolani Legette, who picked up 120 receiving yards and one score. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 60 yards. Lincoln Wise got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Palisades' defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In that department, Jameus McRae was the leader with two. Palisades got some further help from Joshua Watts: he picked up a sack and made six total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Ardrey Kell hadn't done well against Chambers recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cougars 16-13.
Ardrey Kell's win came from a few key players Palisades will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jared Curtis, who threw for 178 yards and a pair of TDs. Ardrey Kell's leading receiver Khylieb Rodriguez was Curtis' top target yet again, picking up 90 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Ardrey Kell now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Palisades, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.
Palisades came up short against Ardrey Kell in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 13-9. Can the Pumas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
