Basketball Game Preview: Rio Vista Rams vs. Napa Grizzlies + Official Tickets

The Rio Vista Rams will be taking part in a tournament against the Napa Grizzlies at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rio Vista picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They strolled past Stagg with points to spare, taking the game 52-37. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Samiah Holley and Makyla Mandujano were among the main playmakers for Rio Vista as the former dropped a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 steals and the latter almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine steals. Holley has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 33 times she's played. Caleigh Bloesch was another key player, putting up seven points along with five boards and four steals.

Rio Vista smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 21 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

While Napa didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Elsie Allen by a score of 27-15 on Thursday. That 12 point margin sets a new team best for the Grizzlies this season.

Napa's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Rio Vista, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
