Basketball Game Preview: South Iredell Vikings vs. Mooresville Blue Devils

South Iredell hasn't had much luck against Mooresville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The South Iredell Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the Mooresville Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

South Iredell is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game on Friday. They fell 68-60 to Cox Mill. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Chargers are ranked 172nd).

Meanwhile, Mooresville entered their game against Lake Norman on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Mooresville came up short against Lake Norman, falling 74-50. The contest marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

South Iredell will need to focus on slowing down Kyri Wilson, one of several Mooresville players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5-for-12 on his way to 12 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Clark, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.

South Iredell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Mooresville, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 20-4.

South Iredell was taken down by Mooresville 64-36 when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can South Iredell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
