Basketball Recap: Vasquez Comes Up Short

Vasquez was the 60-36 winner over Santa Clarita Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vasquez Mustangs took a 38-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santa Clarita Christian Cardinals on Monday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vasquez's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Santa Clarita Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Vasquez is taking a road trip to challenge St. Monica Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santa Clarita Christian, they and Faith Baptist will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Santa Clarita Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
