Baseball Recap: Wayne Takes a Loss

Wayne fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Sissonville on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 6-5. The Pioneers haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Wayne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trai Hayton, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Micheal Dye was another, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 9-24. As for Sissonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Wayne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sissonville, they will square off against Buffalo at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
