Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of JJ Vigil and Julian Nino Lead Mccurdy to Victory + How To Watch

McCurdy won the last time they faced Newcomb and things went their way on Friday too. The Bobcats came out on top against the Skyhawks by a score of 30-18. The game marked the Bobcats' most dominant victory of the season so far.

McCurdy was led to victory by Julian Nino and JJ Vigil. Nino rushed for 204 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries, while Vigil rushed for 103 yards and one score on only 13 carries. Nino's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: McCurdy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 314 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

McCurdy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Vigil and Nino. Vigil is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 103 every time he's taken the field this season.

McCurdy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Newcomb, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. McCurdy will face off against Santa Fe Indian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newcomb, after each having a week off, they and Hozho Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 2:00 p.m. on October 11.
