Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Lakeview Academy

While Lakeview Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Westminster Christian Academy on Thursday as Lakeview Academy made off with a 15-0 win. Fans of Lakeview Academy have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Ricky Brown was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Izze Longoria and Brock Graham did most of the damage at the plate: Longoria scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Graham scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Graham has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nolan Idol, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lakeview Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westminster Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .188.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Westminster Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
