Football Game Preview: Goessel Bluebirds vs. Canton-Galva Eagles

Goessel hasn't had much luck against Canton-Galva recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bluebirds will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Goessel's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Ell-Saline on Friday. They were outmatched by the Cardinals and fell 50-0. While losing is never fun, the Bluebirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Cardinals are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Canton-Galva after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Solomon who ended up claiming the real prize. The Eagles came up short against the Gorillas, falling 44-20. The Eagles were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Canton-Galva's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Goessel, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Goessel couldn't quite get it done against Canton-Galva in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 32-24. Can the Bluebirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
