Softball Recap: Lovejoy Wildcats vs. Dutchtown Bulldogs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Newnan, Lovejoy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Dutchtown Bulldogs by a score of 15-12. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Taylin Freeman was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up nine earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Shunya Bruton and Delany Varner did most of the damage at the plate: Bruton went 4-for-6 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Varner got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The victory got Lovejoy back to even at 2-2. As for Dutchtown, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Coming up, Lovejoy will be playing in front of their home fans against Langston Hughes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Dutchtown, they are taking a road trip to challenge Newnan at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
