Baseball Recap: Haldane Comes Up Short

Haldane extended their losing streak to 19 on Monday, dropping them down to 1-19. They came up short against the Tuckahoe Tigers, falling 17-0. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Tuckahoe, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-11. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Tuckahoe's part, Connor Brice made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Brice has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games he's played.

In other batting news, Jay Romeo was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Luca Delconte was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

While Haldane had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
