Dan River had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Tunstall Trojans by a score of 49-42. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

A big part of Dan River's victory came down to the chemistry between Kingston Merritt and his top target Daylin Gregory. Merritt picked up 133 receiving yards and one score while Gregory picked up 108 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Merritt's longest reception was for an incredible 86 yards.
