Football Recap: Colquitt County Continues Home Dominance on Friday + How To Watch

Colquitt County won the last time they faced Tift County and things went their way on Friday too. The Packers strolled past the Blue Devils with points to spare, taking the game 39-20. Given the Packers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 84th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Colquitt County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cohen Lawson out in front who threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Lawson a new career-high in passer rating (160.4). Antwan Lockett was Lawson's top target, picking up 119 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Colquitt County pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.0 points over those games. As for Tift County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Colquitt County and Tift County will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Packers see the field they'll take on Camden County at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Tift County, their break will end when they face Valdosta at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th.
