Soccer Game Preview: McLane vs. Roosevelt

The McLane Highlanders are taking a road trip to challenge the Roosevelt Rough Riders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for McLane's offense. They fell just short of Sunnyside by a score of 1-0 on Friday. Considering the last time the Highlanders couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Fresno. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Rough Riders couldn't quite close it out.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14-3. As for McLane, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1-2 and their overall record down to 16-6-2.

McLane came out on top in a nail-biter against Roosevelt in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for McLane since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
