Football Recap: Pine Crest Piles Up the Points Against Oxbridge Academy

Pine Crest's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves 49-13. With the Panthers ahead 32-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Zach Moss looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 58 yards and two TDs, while also throwing for 31 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pine Crest was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 357 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Ty Caldwell and Cody Waters certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Caldwell picked up 107 receiving yards and one score, while Waters threw for 135 yards and one TD. Waters also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making ten total tackles and defending one pass.

Pine Crest's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.5 points on average over those games. As for Oxbridge Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Pine Crest wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 22-15 defeat against St. John Paul II Academy on the 26th. As for Oxbridge Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 53-27 loss against Master's Academy on the 26th.
