Basketball Recap: Citrus Valley Comes Up Short

Citrus Valley came up into this matchup off a tough 35-point defeat last Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Orange Vista Coyotes by a score of 48-45 on Thursday. The Blackhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Coyotes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

It was another big night for Taniyah Hutcherson, who posted 38 points for Orange Vista. Hutcherson's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Citrus Valley dropped their record down to 4-5 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Orange Vista, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Citrus Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Yucaipa at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Orange Vista, they will host Liberty at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
