Football Recap: Nitro Skates Past Point Pleasant with Ease

Nitro had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 56-13 win over the Point Pleasant Big Blacks. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wildcats had established a 42-point advantage.

It was another big night for EIAN DUFFY, who threw for 379 yards and five TDs on only 15 passes. LUKE SHAFER was DUFFY's top target, picking up 144 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of TAKYE PORTER, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Nitro's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Point Pleasant, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Nitro has already played their next contest, a 64-0 win against Lincoln County on the 10th. As for Point Pleasant, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 35-24 defeat against Warren on the 10th.
