Baseball Recap: Interlake Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Interlake hadn't done well against Bellevue recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Saints put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 10-2 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Saints sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Zach Diaz was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Interlake: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 4-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Haufe, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Interlake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.8.

Interlake's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Bellevue, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-6.

As of now, neither Interlake nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
