Basketball Recap: Pomona Catholic Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Olivia Haskins and Isabella Preciado

Pomona Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They lost 37-14 to the Mary Star of the Sea Stars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pacers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-14 last Saturday.

Pomona Catholic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Isabella Preciado, who posted five points, and Olivia Haskins, who had five points. That was a full 35.7% of Pomona Catholic's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Pomona Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Mary Star of the Sea, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pomona Catholic will challenge St. Genevieve at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mary Star of the Sea, they will face off against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy on Thursday. St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Mary Star of the Sea surely won't give up without a fight.
