Soccer Recap: Huntington Park Takes a Loss

Huntington Park lost against Roosevelt back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Huntington Park Spartans came up short against the Roosevelt Rough Riders, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while the Rough Riders are ranked 122nd).

Huntington Park's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-3. As for Roosevelt, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Huntington Park will welcome Bell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Huntington Park's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Roosevelt, they will host Garfield at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.
