Recap: Vasquez Mustangs vs. Castaic Coyotes
The Vasquez Mustangs had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Castaic and snuck past 41-38.
When it comes to explaining why Castaic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alana Clark. Despite the final result, she scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. Trinity Haddad was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight steals and six assists.
Vasquez is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Castaic, they bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Vasquez will finish 2023 at home by hosting Adelanto at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th. As for Castaic, they will head out on the road to face off against Quartz Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
