Football Recap: Austin Comes Up Short

Austin came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 57-13 loss at the hands of Fairmont/Martin Luther. While losing is never fun, the Packers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Fairmont/Martin Luther are ranked 43rd).

Austin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Fairmont/Martin Luther, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Austin will venture away from home to challenge Plainview-Elgin-Millville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Packers will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Fairmont/Martin Luther, they will square off against Albert Lea at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
