Softball Recap: Fort Madison Comes Up Short

If Fort Madison was riding high fresh off their 16-4 takedown of Keokuk on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bloodhounds lost 12-4 to the Fairfield Trojans on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-4 on June 5th.

Fort Madison now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Fairfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fairfield beat Fort Madison by a score of 8-0 later that day.
