Softball Game Preview: Citizens Christian Academy Patriots vs. Wayne County Yellow Jackets

The Citizens Christian Academy Patriots will face off against the Wayne County Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Citizens Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Wayne County will be coming in after a loss.

Citizens Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Terrell Academy with a sharp 8-0 win. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly eight runs.

The team relied heavily on Brilynn Waldron, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Emma Gourley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wayne County came up short against South Effingham on Thursday and fell 4-1.

Citizens Christian Academy pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Wayne County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
