Baseball Recap: Southview Triumphs

Southview extended their postseason success on Thursday against Lexington. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Minutemen 5-4. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by just one run.

The win made it two in a row for Southview and bumps their season record up to 15-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Lexington, they moved to 19-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Southview and Lexington are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Cougars will take on Padua Franciscan at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bruins' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Southview's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lexington, they will face off against Wooster at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
