Recap: Wylie Pirates vs. Sachse Mustangs
The Wylie Pirates were the 19-17 winner over the Sachse Mustangs when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Wylie took a serious blow against Sachse on Friday, falling 52-21. While losing is never fun, Wylie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 300th, while Sachse is ranked 59th).
Despite the defeat, Wylie had strong showings from Jagger Bale, who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns, and Martaveion Sanders, who picked up 146 receiving yards and a touchdown. Sanders' longest reception was for an incredible 86 yards.
It was another big night for Brenden George, who threw for 255 yards and four touchdowns. Kendrick Hanks jr. was another key contributor, picking up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Wylie's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Sachse, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Wylie will head out on the road to face off against Garland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sachse, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Garland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
