Basketball Game Preview: Charleroi Cougars vs. McGuffey Highlanders

Charleroi and McGuffey are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Charleroi Cougars will venture away from home to take on the McGuffey Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Charleroi is looking for their season's first victory.

Charleroi is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were outmatched by Frazier and fell 64-34.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-29, which was the final score in McGuffey's tilt against Keystone Oaks on Monday. The game marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

McGuffey has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Charleroi, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Charleroi suffered a grim 72-49 defeat to McGuffey in their previous meeting back in February. Can Charleroi avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
