Softball Recap: Tift County Beats Collins Hill for Their Fourth Straight Win + How To Watch

It's playoff time, and Tift County had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Collins Hill Eagles on Monday, sneaking past 6-5. The win was nothing new for the Blue Devils as they're now sitting on four straight.

Lily Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over eight innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marlee Veazey, who went 2-for-3 with three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaylin McCant, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Tift County's victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Collins Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season.
