Basketball Recap: Morse Takes a Loss

Morse lost against Cathedral Catholic back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Morse Tigers took a 39-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cathedral Catholic Dons. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Dons are ranked 122nd).

Cathedral Catholic found their leader in sophomore Mckinnley Hanlon, who posted 17 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. The game was Hanlon's third in a row with at least 17 points. Anastasia (Ana) Miskova was another key player, putting up nine points.

Morse's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Cathedral Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.

Morse wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 44-42 loss against Mira Mesa on the 11th. As for Cathedral Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, a 45-43 defeat against Scripps Ranch on the 12th.
