Basketball Recap: Cecilia Christy's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mars over West York Area

Mars and West York Area squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mars had to settle for second. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West York Area Bulldogs. The Fightin' Planets just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Several Fightin' Planets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cecilia Christy, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Carmella Mcdole, who earned nine points and five boards.

Mars' defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for West York Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Mars nor West York Area have any future games scheduled.
