Basketball Game Preview: Marina Vikings vs. Edison Chargers

The Marina Vikings will head out to face off against the Edison Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Marina will head out to face Edison after giving up their first home loss of the season on Friday. Marina lost 56-36 to Los Alamitos.

Meanwhile, Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against Corona del Mar, falling 53-28. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 962nd, while the Sea Kings are ranked 216th).

Edison's loss dropped their record down to 4-23. As for Marina, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-11.

Everything came up roses for Marina against Edison in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 69-29 win. In that game, Marina amassed a halftime lead of 42-19, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
