Basketball Recap: Palos Verdes Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Palos Verdes can now relate to. They fell 45-36 to the Monache Marauders on Thursday. While the Sea Kings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Marauders 17-4 in the first quarter.

Monache's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was London Haynes, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Haynes is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Milly Rojas, who posted 15 points and three steals.

Palos Verdes' loss dropped their record down to 21-12. As for Monache, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.

Palos Verdes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monache, they have already played their next match, a 55-43 win against Portola on the 8th.
