Basketball Recap: Hoover Takes a Loss

Hoover lost against Arcadia back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hoover Tornados took a blow against the Arcadia Apaches, falling 67-32. The Tornados just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

They used a three-pronged attack on offense: Jeanna Santiago, Aileen Nazaryan, and Aya Ter- Martirosyan posted six points each.

Madeline Tran had an outrageously good game for Arcadia as she went 8 of 10 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and six steals. Tran is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jolie Chen, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 13 points and five steals.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Arcadia, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Hoover has already played their next game, a 42-38 victory against Muir on the 23rd. As for Arcadia, they will be playing at home against Pasadena at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Arcadia will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
