Basketball Game Preview: South Platte Blue Knights vs. Potter-Dix Coyotes

Having just played yesterday, the South Platte Blue Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Potter-Dix Coyotes at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

South Platte is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Fleming just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 49-35 bruising from the Wildcats.

Despite their loss, South Platte saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jayla Paulsen, who went 7 for 9 on her way to 18 points and six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaerihya Doncheske, who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Potter-Dix took a blow against Bayard on Friday, falling 53-20. The defeat continues a trend for the Coyotes in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Potter-Dix's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for South Platte, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Everything came up roses for South Platte against Potter-Dix in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 61-15 win. In that match, South Platte amassed a halftime lead of 39-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
