Baseball Game Preview: Decatur Bulldogs vs. Lakeside Vikings

For the second straight game, Decatur will face off against Lakeside. The Bulldogs will challenge the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Decatur has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Decatur is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Lakeside just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 12-8 to the Vikings.

For Lakeside's part, they got a massive performance out of Jihad Guy, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Guy has posted since back in March. Matthew Russell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases.

Guy wasn't the only one making solid contact: Lakeside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Decatur now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Lakeside, their victory bumped their record up to 16-9-1.
