Basketball Recap: Princeton Drops Season-High Score on Tecumseh

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Princeton). They put the hurt on the Tecumseh Braves with a sharp 73-51 victory on Saturday. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.

Princeton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ailie Taylor, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 22 points and three steals. The match was Taylor's third in a row with at least ten points. Jemiah Buford was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine steals.

Several Braves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alena Holder, who went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Hazel Melton, who posted eight points and six boards.

The win made it two in a row for Princeton and bumps their season record up to 8-12. As for Tecumseh, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Princeton will face off against Vincennes Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Princeton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season. As for Tecumseh, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pike Central at 8:00 p.m.
