Soccer Game Preview: Kennedy vs. Xavier

The Kennedy Cougars will face off against the Xavier Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Kennedy and Waterloo West finished up their match with a 1-1 draw.

The Cougars' goal came courtesy of Isaac Schmidt, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Xavier waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Give Xavier's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Xavier's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. Kennedy's draw gives them a new season record of 0-0-2.

Kennedy took their win against Xavier in their previous matchup back in May of 2022 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
