Baseball Recap: Monroe Area Takes a Loss

Monroe Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oconee County Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-0 loss on Friday.

Monroe Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Ashley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Monroe Area's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Oconee County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monroe Area will take on Rockdale County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oconee County, they will face off against Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
